Import and Export Settings
A .pake file carries the settings of one app or all of them, so you can move your apps to another computer, back them up, or share a tuned setup. Mac, Windows and Linux read the same files.
Export
- One app: ⋯ › Export Settings… in My Apps.
- All apps: File › Export All Settings… on Mac, or the ⋯ menu at the top of the window on Windows.
A file holds each app's name, address, window and behavior options, user agent, link rule, CSS, JavaScript and icon. It never holds sign-ins, cookies, your license or paths on your computer.
Import
Choose Import Settings… from the File menu on Mac, or the ⋯ menu on Windows.
- Pake checks the whole file first; if it cannot be used, Pake stops and shows This settings file is invalid or too large.
- Apps open one at a time on the normal app page, and Next App moves to the next one after each install. Pressing Return continues to that next app. A name that is already taken gets a number added, so nothing is replaced without asking.
- Imported CSS and JavaScript stay off until you read them under Advanced and click Use Imported Code.
- Each imported app is a new app for your license or free apps.
- Options the other platform does not have, such as Hide title bar on Windows, are ignored.
A file can hold up to 100 apps and 32 MB.
