FAQ

Do I need Node.js or Rust?

No. Pake for Mac, Windows and Linux builds apps without any developer tools. Only the Pake CLI needs Node.js and Rust.

Do my apps stop working if I remove Pake or my license expires?

No. The apps you made do not depend on Pake or its license. A license only matters for making and editing apps.

Why can I not sign in to a site?

Some providers, Google among them, block sign-in inside embedded web views like the one Pake apps use, and some sites check for a full browser. On Windows, turning on Open new windows in the app keeps a sign-in pop-up as its own window inside the app. On Mac, sign-in pop-ups open in the app's own window instead, except Sign in with Apple, which keeps its pop-up. When a provider refuses embedded sign-in, use that site in your browser.

Why does WeChat ask me to scan a QR code every time?

The gallery's WeChat app runs in Incognito, which keeps no sign-ins between sessions. Turn Incognito off in its settings if you want it to remember you.

Dark window is on, so why is the page still light?

Dark window only darkens the title bar and window frame. The page keeps the colors the site chooses.

Can I use two accounts on the same site?

Yes. Use Add Another Account in My Apps. See Manage your apps.

How do I move my apps to a new computer?

Export all settings to a .pake file, then import it on the new computer. See Import and export. If the old computer will not use Pake again, deactivate it on the License card so the new one takes its place.

Where do I report a problem?

Open an issue at github.com/tw93/Pake, and say which app and which system you use.
