Wavebox alternatives: one window, or one app per site
Keep Wavebox when you want many accounts in one Chromium window; use another tool when that window, or its free plan, is the problem. Logins live in Spaces, each with its own cookies, and apps sit in Groups on the webdock. After a 7-day Pro trial, Basic keeps only a slice of that. The other tools below keep either one window or one icon per site.
What Basic keeps after the trial
Wavebox's platform page says the browser is built on Chromium and kept current with Chromium releases, so Chrome Web Store extensions install. The Mac download requires macOS 13 Ventura or later, Apple silicon or Intel. The Windows download requires Windows 10 or later on Intel or AMD, plus Windows on ARM. The download hub lists Mac, Windows and Linux.
On 5 November 2026 the pricing page started every account on a 7-day Pro trial, no card required. Basic is Work & Home Spaces, 2 groups with 2 apps in each, 1 extension and one dashboard. Pro is $8.33 per month, paid annually: unlimited Spaces, Groups and Apps, all extensions, cloud sync, unlimited dashboards. Teams is $12.50 per user per month. The plans article, updated 8 October 2026, prints other figures. Basic there is 2 Spaces, 2 Groups of 2 apps, 1 Chrome extension, 1 dashboard and limited features. Pro is $99 USD a year, with unlimited profiles, any extension, profile sync, Wavebox Mini, unread badges, notifications and Brainbox AI. Teams is $150 USD per seat, monthly or annually. Read the pricing page before you pay, because the two pages do not print the same numbers.
The pricing FAQ calls Basic two groups and two spaces, two Gmail accounts in its example, and the download pages say two Gmail accounts. Mac and Windows setup offers three Spaces, inside the trial and over the Basic cap. Trial apps return on upgrade. More trial time is a reply to the trial-end email or a note to support@wavebox.io, also the 30-day refund address. Cancel under My Wavebox, then Billing. The homepage describes badges and the Mini menu without calling them paid, so check badges the morning the trial ends.
How a Space keeps two accounts apart
Spaces, updated 19 August 2026, were previously called cookie containers. The Space holds the app's cookies, and those cookies are the account. A Group only files the icon. Wavebox describes Spaces as Chrome profiles open together in one window, switched from the webdock.
The Groups article, updated 8 October 2026, gives each Group a color, a badge and a tab strip. New apps inherit the Group's Space. Moving an app leaves the Space unchanged, so one Group can show several clients' Gmail in List or Explorer layout. A second app of a type already in the Space prompts a new Space. A wrong Gmail inbox means two Google accounts in one Space: sign out of all of them, then sign in the right account.
The sleep article, updated 8 October 2026, sleeps apps and tabs after 15 minutes and greys the icon until you click it. Only Slack, Trello, Gmail, ClickUp, Outlook, Feedly, Office365 and Freshdesk update while asleep. Auto-wake, updated 20 May 2026, wakes the rest about every 30 minutes: Settings, General, Sleep, then the app. Turn sleep off for a live badge. Right-click, Sleep, suspends a Group, app or tab now.
The platform page calls an app a boosted tab. An app without an integration is what the auto-wake article calls a linked app, under the sleep rule. Split screen on the homepage puts two apps or tabs, even two accounts of one type, side by side in that window. The platform page's Profiles are separate instances. Unlimited profiles are Pro, and Basic allows one extension from the store it counts at over 150,000.
Ferdium and Rambox
Ferdium is one window of services. Add a service twice for two accounts, use workspaces, a todo panel and custom services, with or without an account. An account syncs the list, and services hibernate to save resources. The homepage states no price, no numeric cap and no Chrome Web Store, and its repository is Apache-2.0 licensed. Ferdium alternatives covers packaging and the hibernation switch.
Rambox keeps many apps, including more than one login of an app, in one window. Its update help says Rambox 3 is Electron, "the same engine as Google Chrome", on Windows 10 version 1809 or later or Windows 11, 64-bit or ARM64, macOS 12 or later, and 64-bit Ubuntu 22.04+, Fedora 38+, openSUSE Leap 15.5+ or Tumbleweed, or Debian 12+. The pricing page starts a 30-day Pro trial with no card. Basic then has unlimited apps, up to 2 instances per app, notifications, focus mode, hibernation and 1 active session. Pro is $7 a month or $70 a year, adding workspaces, multi-login, unlimited instances, extensions and up to 3 computers. The page does not define instance versus multi-login. Rambox fits when Wavebox Basic's four apps are too few, with workspaces still on Pro.
Chrome, WebCatalog, and one app per site
Google's profile help separates bookmarks, history, passwords and other settings per profile. Select Profile, Add Chrome profile, then a name, photo and color. For an icon, the install help says More, then Cast, save, and share, then Install page as app. Some sites show Install in the address bar. Install from the profile that owns the account, and add a profile for the next one. The page does not say two installs in one profile get separate cookies.
WebCatalog catalogs 50,000+ apps, or any site, in spaces, with several accounts signed in, standalone windows on Mac and Windows, isolated profiles and sync. Requirements are macOS 13 or later, Windows 10 or later, and experimental Linux on x64 or ARM64. Its 11 October 2026 post, updated 21 October, says it is not a browser, runs on Chromium, and that 1Password, Bitwarden and LastPass work in its apps. The comparison covers engines. Those pages do not price it, and do not say the apps survive removing WebCatalog.
Pake wraps one address. The desktop app runs on macOS 14 or later, Windows 10 version 2004 or later, and Arch-based Linux. Windows apps need the WebView2 Runtime, per the install guide. The manual says the open-source CLI is always free, the desktop app makes 2 apps for free, and finished apps keep working after Pake is removed. Pages are drawn by the system web view: WKWebView on macOS, WebView2 on Windows, WebKitGTK on Linux. The CLI options have no extensions and no sleep. Pake's FAQ says a heavy page uses a comparable amount of memory in a WebKitGTK browser such as GNOME Web, because the cost is the web view and the page. After CLI setup:
pake https://app.slack.com --name Slack-Work --show-system-tray --hide-on-close
pake https://app.slack.com --name Slack-Client --show-system-tray --hide-on-close
The name is part of the identity. The CLI derives com.pake.a plus a hash from the URL and --name, so two names are two apps. Keep names stable on rebuild. Linux lowercases them and turns spaces into hyphens. --show-system-tray defaults off. --hide-on-close defaults on for macOS and off for Windows and Linux. Leave --incognito off, or nothing is stored: no cookies, local storage or history.
In the desktop app, My Apps, the ⋯ menu, Add Another Account copies settings and the icon, for example to Notion 2, copies no sign-in, and counts as a new app. Details are in two accounts on one website.
Google's OAuth policy, modified 5 August 2026, says not to send an authorization request into an embedded user-agent you control. Pake is a system web view, so that request can be refused. The sign-in guide matches the message. Wavebox's Spaces article treats several Gmail accounts as normal because Wavebox is a browser. Keep a failing Google account in Chrome or Wavebox.
Check that each account stayed put
Quit and reopen, then check each avatar.
- Wrong Wavebox inbox. Read the Space indicator. Sign every Google account out of that Space, then sign in once.
- Grey icon. It is asleep. If the app is not integrated, wake it, enable auto-wake or turn sleep off, and allow Wavebox notifications.
- Cannot add a Group. Basic stops at two Groups of two apps.
- Pake drops the session. Sign out only in that app. Dying on every quit means
--incognitoor Incognito. A refused Google page stays in Chrome or Wavebox. - Memory. Compare a real day in Activity Monitor or Task Manager.
FAQ
How do I cancel Wavebox?

Does Basic include cloud sync?
No. Cloud Sync and Profile Sync are on the Pro lists only.
Will two Pake apps share a login?
No. The name is part of the identity, and Add Another Account does not copy cookies.
Can two installs in one Chrome profile keep two logins?
The install help does not say they have separate cookies. Add a profile, then install from it.
